We are a multidisciplinary architecture and interior design studio based in New York and Puerto Rico. Founded by María Gabriela Escalera-Joy and Rubén E. Hernández Correa, the studio works across residential, commercial, exhibition, hospitality, furniture and cultural projects.

María Gabriela Escalera Joy (Gaby)
A designer and artist with over fourteen years of experience in architecture, design and fabrication. Gaby has worked in design initiatives spanning diverse typologies, encompassing mixed-use housing developments, single-family residences, temporary urban installations, and community public modular structures. She has served as an instructor and participated in design juries at Pratt Institute Architecture Graduate Program. Additionally, she has been a guest speaker at Puerto Rico’s Colegio de Arquitectos y Arquitectos Paisajistas.
Gaby holds a Master of Architecture from Pratt Institute and a Bachelor’s in Environmental Design from the Universidad de Puerto Rico.
Rubén E. Hernández
Correa
With extensive experience in the architecture, interior design and construction industry, Rubén has a special interest in the tectonics of the built and natural environment, the craft and juxtaposition of timeless, unconventional, and cutting edge materials. Ruben has undertaken a variety of project scales from high-end residential and commercial interiors to multi-family housing developments, Prior to founding Gaby Ruben, he served as the Director of Interior Design at WeWork where he oversaw the design of WeWork’s flagship spaces across the major international markets.
Ruben received his Bachelor’s in Environmental Design from the University of Puerto Rico and a Master of Architecture from Parsons, The New School for Design in New York.
